Current form Atlanta Falcons
Even though the Atlanta Falcons didn’t enter this season as the favorite in the National Football Conference, they were able to secure a spot in the Super Bowl for the second time after 1998. Head coach Dan Quinn’s team finished the regular season on the second place with a record of eleven wins and five losses. They started the NFC Play Offs with a bye, afterwards they beat the Seattle Seahawks pretty clearly 36:20. After that they won against the Green Bay Packers also surprisingly clear 44:21. Those two wins for sure boosted Atlanta’s self-confidence; especially because of the way those wins were obtained. The Falcon’s strength definitely is their offense, which was one of the best in the NFL this season. If one looks at the statistics of scored points, Atlanta is on the top with 540. Just like the whole team, quarterback Matt Ryan is playing a remarkable season. So far he scored career highs in touchdowns and gained yards. Ryan has a total of 38 touchdowns and impressive 4.944 yards. Other key players for Monday’s show down are Wide receiver Julio Jones (1.409 yards, 6 touch downs) as well as running back Devonta Freeman (1.079, 11). Center Alex Mack also played a great season so far. Atlanta’s defense is not unbeatable though. Opposing teams were able to score a total of 406 points against the Falcons. Bright spot of the not always successful defense was Vic Beasley, who achieved 15,5 quarterback sacks, which is a season best of the league.
Current form New England Patriots
The New England Patriot’s record is even a little bit better than the one of their final opponent Atlanta. They were able to win 14 games and only lost two. Another plus for Bill Belichick’s team is their experience in end games. The Patriots are one of the teams that were able to celebrate a Super Bowl triumph for numerous times. New England plays for the Vince Lombardy trophy for the ninth time. They were already able to win it four times under the current head coach alone. With the before mentioned 14:2 record the Patriots won the American Football Conference. Just like the Falcons they also had a bye in the first round of the play offs. Then they beat the Houston Texans 34:16 and afterwards the Pittsburgh Steelers 36:17. While Atlanta mainly shined through great offense, the same counts for the Patriots’ defense. Pointwise Belichick’s team has the best defense of the league. They only let their opponents score a total of 250 points. Linebacker Dont’a Hightower and Free Safety Devin McCourty played particularly well. But the Patriots are also one of the best offensive teams of the league. After all their offense is led by no other than Tom Brady, who scored 3.554 yards and 28 touch downs. And all of that despite the fact that he was suspended for four games in the beginning of the season due to the deflate gate affair (not enough pressure in the Patriots’ balls in the game against Indianapolis Colts 2014). Brady also only had to endure two interceptions this season. Another key player is wide receiver Matthew Slater, who has been able to neutralize the opponent’s kick returner and punt returner very well in many games.
Betting tip for this match
The Patriots probably have a more complete team. Additionally they have their experience in end games going for them. Unlike Atlanta they also know how it feels to win the Super bowl. New England can also rely on their individual class and a better balance between offense and defense. That’s why we are counting on a success by the favorite. Our recommendation: Tip 2.
