GUTS Review – Our Test and Experiences
In our extensive review report, this time we focus on a relatively young company from the Scandinavian region that only recently earned its spurs in the industry. Our experiences with Guts showed a strong focus on the German betting marketplace. That said, this company’s headquarters are in Malta. Guts is licensed there as well as in Curaçao. This bookmaker claims to be more dedicated than its competitors to the experiences and needs of its customers, addressing those needs to the greatest extent possible. Whether or not this is indeed the case, we will clarify in detail in the course of the following Guts review report. We placed a major emphasis, of course, on the categories of betting products as well as odds, though we also wish to share with you our experiences with Guts in the areas of customer service, user-friendliness and other categories.

BETTING PRODUCTS – Guts manages to convince us in this test
As is the case with all other bookmakers we examine in our review reports, a quick look at the betting products offered by Guts clearly shows that the focus of this young bookmaker is directed towards football. Currently, for this, the world’s number one sport, Guts offers around 50,000 events. But it isn’t merely this big number that counts in our Guts test: When it comes to the depth of their betting program, we also had very positive experiences with Guts. In total, this Scandinavian offers over 30 different sports. That said, the array of betting products from Guts – regardless of the season or time of year – is sure to appeal to each and every fan of sports betting. Whether biathlon, darts, boxing, cricket or Unihockey, there is little to complain about with respect to the volume of sports, definitely meriting a high score. In the course of our experience report, it was impossible to overlook the fact that Guts has Scandinavian roots. This is reflected in their extensive program covering the countries of Norway, Sweden and Denmark, though sports tipsters can also enrich their experiences thanks to more exotic markets also featured at Guts. For example, this bookmaker offers matches from the first and second divisions in countries like Peru and Northern Ireland, while in the “home countries” of football, their offer extends all the way down into the amateur divisions. We encounter a similar situation in tennis, where our extensive Guts test indicated betting opportunities in the four highest tournament categories. We note limitations and deductions, however, in the area of betting markets, where, for example, we discover only about 80 markets per match in the German Bundesliga. In this instance, many of their competitors come close to doubling that number, while the situation in tennis is similar, with Guts only offering just under 20 markets for matches in the highest tournament category. Due to the somewhat scanty extent of their offer, in this category of our Guts test we award 17/20 points.
BETTING ODDS – A mixed bag of experiences in our Guts test
Taking a closer look at the category of betting odds, our thorough Guts test generated mixed emotions since our experiences in this area were not exclusively positive. When it comes down to it, a lot depends on which sport is your personal favorite for betting purposes. That said, allow us to begin with our positive experiences with Guts in this area: This Scandinavian online bookmaker offered absolutely top value in basketball. It was not rare to encounter payout rates in this sport of 95%. However, when it came to the “King of Sports”, football, we have less positive news to report in our Guts experience report. Here, in comparison to other competitors in the industry, Guts lags significantly. If we assume an average payout rate of around 93%, in our test of betting odds for football and tennis Guts generally lies below that number. Frequently, their rates lay between 90 and 92%. Were we to formulate our comments optimistically, we would refer to these as “solid” numbers, however, since we see football odds as essential to online betting experiences, in this category of our review we feel compelled to deduct one or two points as a consequence. We therefore award 17/20 points.
LIVE BETS – In this category, Guts lands in the upper mid-range of our test
If we take a close look at opportunities for live betting, we note that Guts does not dare to take too many big leaps of faith, though, when compared with their competition in our test of betting providers, they do not really drop back very far as a consequence. At the time of our research, we were able to establish just over 30 events in this bookmaker’s live center. We recognize strengths in their program variety, especially since their matches encompass no fewer than 11 different sports. We should also mention here the very positive experiences we had with the clarity of the Guts live center. In our Guts test, live events were divided by sport on the left-hand side of the display, with just a single click allowing you to select each match. With respect to betting markets, Guts produced more positive results in this aspect of our test when compared to their regular betting products. In this area, this Scandinavian bookmaker absolutely keeps pace with the best, with over 230 betting markets being offered in the Guts live center within the scope of our test, with many different types of bet available to choose from. These are displayed together in the center of the screen. However, we did not see an opportunity to organize events by sport, while a live calendar, offered by a number of competitors, was not found on the Guts site. In total, in this category of our Guts experience report we award 7/10 points.
BETTING BONUS – Our Guts experience report reveals a stunning new-customer bonus
The Guts Bonus for new customers provides a £ 10 bonus-back for a first lost bet. In order to get your hands on the Guts Bonus, a first-time registration on the bookmaker’s website is required and a first single bet with a wager of £ 10 or higher must be placed (a click on the button below will take you directly to the bookmaker’s website). Furthermore, minimum odds of 1.80 have to be considered in regard to this first qualifying bet. If your bet loses, the Guts bonus of £ 10 is being credited within 72 hours after the bet has been settled. Upon receipt, certain wagering requirements must be met in order to convert the bonus funds into real money. First of all, the bonus amount has to be rolled over 4x by playing bets on the bookmaker’s website. As with the first qualifying bet, only bets with odds of 1.80 or higher will contribute towards the wagering requirements of the Guts bonus. The rollover requirements must be met within 14 days, otherwise the Guts bonus will become void. Furthermore, the payment methods Skrill, Skrill 1-Tap, Neteller and Paysafe are excluded from the Guts bonus. In summary, the Guts bonus can only reach an average rating in our review due to various reasons. Above all, the wagering requirements are quite challenging and in addition, the bonus amount of £ 10 does not really excel other welcome offers in the market. Therefore, the Guts bonus reaches a total of 7/10 points in this category of our test.
USER-FRIENDLINESS – Guts doesn’t quite manage to convince us in our test
In the area of user-friendliness, our experiences with Guts were once again mixed. The clear design of the website is absolutely positive. In the header area, you will find the various main categories including sport, live bets, casino, live casino and poker. On the left-hand side, we found a listing of available sports, including the number of current bets possible for each of them, which definitely makes it easier for users to orient themselves. In the center of the homepage, you will find the most important live games, beneath which Guts clearly displays those matches which are currently the most popular one more time, always with a drop-down option with which we also had very good experiences, since this allows you to display all of the currently available events. Also on left-hand side: so-called Quick Links to some of the most important leagues, though surprisingly, only the German Bundesliga, the NBA and the NHL are displayed there. Our experiences when it came to design were less positive. The color scheme and color contrast of the header were good, though this was definitely not the case with the live center. As a consequence, in our Guts test we felt that the website was cluttered and unclear. Furthermore, translations in other languages are hard to locate in the desktop version. However, our Guts experiences were more positive when we went mobile. Here, you can use the search function to select individual matches. In addition, Guts scores extra points in our test for offering a separate app. Though in our experience, we felt the very long loading times in the mobile version were problematic. All in all, in this category we award 7/10 points.
PAYMENT OPTIONS – Negative experiences with payment fees in the Guts test
Right there on their home page, we were able to find an overview of the most important payment options available through this bookmaker. This included classic services such as Visa, MasterCard and Sofort. Our test also established that Guts allows a wide selection of E-wallets, including Skrill and Neteller, which is not necessarily the case with their competitors. That said, even though our experiences with Guts were overwhelmingly positive in this regard, we do have some reservations. We felt compelled to dock a few points for the fact that Guts still passes on service fees for credit card payments to its customers. Similarly, bank transfers, including those conducted with the aid of Skrill and Neteller, are not excluded from fees either. Because of that, Guts does lose some ground in our evaluation. For each banking transaction, customers are charged a fee of €2.50. Our Guts test also established that your payouts are not safe from fees either, something this Scandinavian bookmaker points out in its terms and conditions. Our experience with Guts also showed that the speed of payouts, especially when it came to bank payments, varied substantially and might take anywhere from 1 to 3 business days. The same applies to transactions involving credit card accounts. Based on our test, Guts performs fastest when it comes to E-wallets. Add to this the fact that you can only read detailed payment information if you are logged in as a user. In summary, there are a number of factors that held Guts back from receiving the maximum points possible. With respect to deposit and payout options, we therefore award only 6/10 points.
CUSTOMER SERVICE – Not very good experiences with Guts
In this category of our Guts test, we noted quite a disparity between the claims and reality of this Scandinavian betting provider. On the Guts homepage, we read that users have access to dedicated and intelligent customer service, and that the provider can be reached by post, telephone and email. That said, our experiences with Guts painted a very different picture. Especially for non-registered users and thus potential customers, the online bookie only offers a live chat window, placed at the bottom right of their homepage. Otherwise, based on our experiences with Guts, there are no other ways to get in touch. The FAQs do not boast short loading times, while readability is often partially restricted after you click on the corresponding button. Within the scope of our test, we were also unable to locate a telephone number, email address or telephone hours, which is why we have virtually no positive experiences with Guts to share with you in terms of their customer support. Our score: 6/10 points.
PROFESSIONALISM – Full points for our Guts experiences
As for professionalism, our Guts review report saw no reasons to deduct points. This young bookmaker does not allow anyone under age 18 to open an account, continually conducting identity and safety checks. A sports betting license from Malta, which they hold, is practically a must in this industry anymore. The same applies to SSL encryption, certification of which we found on their website. Yet another positive with regards to safety is the fact that this bookmaker appears to be clearly committed to the prevention of gambling addiction. Taking all of this into account, and with a clear conscience, in this category of our Guts review report we award full points: 10/10.
Since our experience with Guts revealed that this young bookmaker currently only offers its new-customer bonus to tipsters in German, the question of betting taxes is a very central one. In fact, many of their competitors do pass the betting taxes on to their customers. However, this Scandinavian bookie has NOT adopted this practice, which we view exceptionally positively.
IN SUMMARY – Our test of this betting provider shows room for improvement
Our Guts review report showed that, while this Swedish bookmaker cannot be faulted for effort, there was almost no category in which we were able to award full points. We certainly see positive signs when it comes to live betting, as we do with their betting products in general. Our biggest deductions were in the face of fees as well as lack of contact options in our test categories customer service and payment options. Guts should also consider extending its new-customer bonus to interested users from other countries, an excellent way to attract potential customers. That said, we should not allow ourselves to forget that Guts has only been on the betting market since 2014 and has thus gained neither the reputation nor experience we encounter with the “big players” in the industry. Guts total score in our review report is 77/100 points, a score that certainly has room for improvement.Bookmaker Comparison
