Betting tip EURO 2016: Wales - Nordirland
Saturday, 25.06.2016 at 18:00
The next British duel at the eighth final
After they already have played against England at the group stage there is another rival from the United Kingdom waiting for Wales. At the match against Northern Ireland Bale & Co are the clear favourite. Kick-off on the 25th of June is at 6 p.m..
Current performance of Wales
Who would have guessed that? As the outsider of this competition they have finished the group B as the winner behind England, Slovakia and Russia. Responsible for this has been the two victories against Russia and Slovakia. Also against the “big brother” England the team of Chris Coleman knew how to convince, they even have led at first but in the end they had to suffer a defeat against them with a score of 1:2. However this defeat is already forgotten because the chance for the quarter finals is big. Especially when Superstar Gareth Bale can show the same performance like lately. At the last three matches he was able to score three matches. In addition they can count on a strong defence as we had seen against Russia (3:0). It could be also an advantage for them that the strength of Northern Ireland is the defence and therefore they are not going to expect many attacks from them. A lot depends on the tactics that Coach Coleman will choose against the defence of Northern Ireland. We will also see how Wales can handle the pressure of the favourite role.
Current performance of Northern Ireland
Just like the group winning of Wales, fans and experts did also not expect Northern Ireland at the eighth finals. But the Underdog has surprised at the group C. Even when they have lost against the favourites of the group Poland and Germany with a score of 0:1 they have won on the second day of play against the host of the EURO 2012, the Ukraine with a great score of 2:0. Therefore they have fixed their ticket for the eighth finals as one of the four best third placed. At the round of the last 16 there could have been a thougher rival than Wales but they are still the outsider in this match. We expect from Northern Ireland that they will fight hard like they have done it at the past matches. Maybe Trainer Michael O´Neill hopes for a drawn and an extra time which could be an advantage for a psychological strong team. At the offensive play they have to hope for standard situations which has also lead to success against the Ukraine.
Betting tip for this match
It’s a match between two teams that wouldn’t have expected most of the people before the EURO. Both teams have been able to surprise and therefore are full of euphoria. Wales has the better individual quality in his squad and that’s why we think that Bale & Co will win this match in the end. Our tip: tip 1.
