Difficult task for Leverkusen

In the parallel game of group E the team from Bayer Leverkusen needs to play away against Tottenham Hotspur. If Monaco can’t win their home game against CSKA, both teams have the chance to be on top in group E after game day four. The duel kicks off on November 2 at 8.45 PM.

Current form Tottenham Hotspur

The team from White Hart Lane is struggling a little bit. The “Spurs” have not been able to win their last five games. Even though they also only lost one of these games (1:2 against Liverpool), the Ponchetti-Eleven lost points against weaker teams as well. On the last game day in the Premier League they only drew 1:1 against Leicester City and they also only scored one point in the game against Bournemouth (0:0). The first game in Leverkusen also ended in a draw (1:1). It seems as though Tottenham is lacking coolness especially on offense. Top goal getter Harry Kane is currently missed badly all over. Ponchetti has not found a worthy replacement (yet). One of the “Spurs’” problems is that they have not many alternatives on offense. Apart from Kane ther is only one other real striker, namely Vincent Janssen. The fact that they get to play at home gives a little bit of hope. Tottenham has only lost one game at White Hart Lane so far. They lost on the first Champions League game day against AS Monaco (1:2). Defender Toby Alderweireld also won’t be able to play on Wednesday. The Belgian is dealing with a knee injury.

Current form Bayer 04 Leverkusen

Bayer 04 Leverkusen also didn’t play as well as they hoped for in the league lately. Roger Schmidt’s team is currently ranked on the disappointing tenth place, so Schmidt had to endure a lot of critique lately. At least Leverkusen was able to win their last game against Vfl Wolfsburg 2:1. The team showed moral and came back from a 0:1 deficit. This was the first win after four losses in row though. Leverkusen lost the cup game amongst others against lower class Sportfreunde Lotte. The Schmidt-eleven is lacking consistency. They perform really well in some games, like the 2:0 win against Dortmund. They also have been on one level with the “Spurs” for great parts of the first game. These good performances take terms with really bad ones though, like the loss in the cup or in the league against Werder Bremen (1:2). One problem of the team might be their lack of experience especially internationally. Against Wolfsburg the average age of the team was 24 years. At least Leverkusen has a real goal getter in Chicharito. The Mexican scored five goals in eight league games so far and he is also supposed to score in London.

Betting forecast

Both teams have to deal with problems currently. For Tottenham speak their home strength and the stability on defense. Leverkusen has their variability on offense going for them. We believe that the game will end in a draw. Our recommendation: Tip X.
