Betting tip Serie A: SSC Neapel - AS Roma
Saturday, 15.10.2016 at 15:00
A top duel at the start
It is by far the interesting duel in the eighth round of Italian Serie A. We are talking about the game between currently ranked second SSC Napoli and third AS Roma. Both teams want to stay close to leader Juventus Turin. Kick-off is Saturday at 3 PM.
Current form SSC Napoli
SSC was temporarily at the lead of Italian Serie A. In the meantime Juventus Turin took over again. Four points are separating Napoli from Juve, that’s why a win on Saturday counts twice as much. Lastly they suffered a surprising 1:0 loss to Atalanta Bergamo however. This was their first loss of the season. Before that Napoli was undefeated for six competitive games. Against Bergamo Maurizio Sarri’s team was not determined enough though. Even though they had 60 percent ball possession and the better and more chances to score a goal, Napoli wasn’t able to convert. So it is very unfortunate that one of their most dangerous players got injured. Akrkadiusz Milik tore is ACL during the national team break, when Poland played against Denmark and Armenia. The rest of the team is fit however. Additionally coach Sarri’s team has been flawless in front of their home crowd so far. They won all of their three home games.
Current form AS Roma
With a win in Napoli Rome could surpass their opponent in the ranking and become Juventus Turin’s first pursuers. The signs are not bad at all. The club from the capital performed really well in their last two games. First they easily beat Astra Giurgiu 4:0 in Europe League and a couple of days later they defeated Inter Milan 2:1. Totti and Co. already lost two games this season however. They were beat by Florence (0:1) and FC Turin (1:3). Coach Luciano Spalletti’s team especially shows flaws on defense. The two received goals in the game against Cagliari prove that, after all Cagliari is not a very good offensive team. Additionally Rome seems to struggle in away games. All of their point losses were obtained in away games, either in Europe League or in the Serie A. On Saturday two defensive pillars won’t be able to play, namely Thomas Vermaelen and Mario Rui. Coach Spalletti can count on a striker in top form though. Edin Dzeko scored five goals in seven leaue games so far and he also was able to score against Milan.
The absence of Milik is surely no disadvantage for Rome, but it would be too much to make them the favorite because of his injury. We believe that Napoli’s home strength will be the deciding factor on Saturday. Our recommendation: Tip 1.
