A topmatch at the start of the season

It’s the biggest match at the first round of the national league in this season. On Saturday the title holder Red Bull Salzburg meets Strum Graz. Off course the “bulls” are the favourites in this match. Kick-off on the 23rd of July is at 6.30 p.m..

Current performance of Sturm Graz

There happened also a lot at Sturm Graz. After they have missed their goal of last season, getting an international starting grid, there have been a radical change. With Günther Kreissl they have a new sports director who has sorted out the squad and has made new space for strengthening. With Stefan Hierländer (RB Leipzig), Uros Matic (NAC Breda), Fabian Koch (Austria Wien), Deni Alar (Rapid Wien), Christian Schulz (Hannover), Philipp Huspek (Rapid Wien) and Daniel Lück (Cottbus) there are seven new players in the team. Especially on Schulz and Alan lies a lot of hope. The job for Trainer Franco Foda is now to form a team out of the players which is competitive for the fight of the first four positions. Even when they have won the first duty match at the cup against the FC Stadlau with a score of 2:0 their performance wasn’t very convincing. It will be also interesting who will be the new goal keeper. At first they wanted to oblige Filip Dmitrovic from Austria Klagenfurt but then they have distanced again from the thought. Instead they have obliged Daniel Lück as already mentioned. However he hasn’t played very much in the last season that’s why Christian Gratzei will start as number one because with Michael Esser one of the best players has left the team.

Current performance of Red Bull Salzburg

The team who is supported by Dietrich Mateschitz are ready again for the national and international matches. While on the European field at first the Champions League qualification has to be done, to get the title is important as well. On the first day of play with Strum Graz an unpleasant rival is waiting for them. Nonetheless Salzburg has a big advantage. The elven of Coach Oscar Garcia has already played three duty matches which all have been won, on the contrary to their rivals. Beside a victory with a score of 3:1 at the ÖFB Cup against Vorwärts Steyr where a good B team has played, Salzburg also has won the Champions League qualification. The match at home against FK Ljepaja from Letvia has also been won with a score of 1:0 and also at the away match they have won with a score of 2:0. The self-esteem should be just right. In addition Trainer Garcia had the possibility to make a summer preparation with the team. With Munas Dabbur they have obliged the top scorer of the league of Switzerland. Martin Hinteregger also returned from Gladbach and Mark Rzatkowski (St. Pauli), Stefan Stangl (Rapid) and Fredrik Gulbrandsen (Molde) have been also obliged. However with Naby Keita a key player has left the team. He has changed to Leipzig.

Betting tip for this match

The roles are clear divided in this match. Salzburg is the title holder and has more quality in his squad and has filled up their self-esteem while Graz has to find back on track. We do not think that this will happen against the Bulls. That’s why our tip is: tip 2.
