A thrilling start of the eighth finals
The group stage is almost over and now it’s going to the hot phase. While some matches are not fixed yet one encounter is already sure. It’s the match between Switzerland and Poland. It’s hard to choose a favourite in this match. Kick-off on the 25th of June will be at 3 p.m..
Current performance of Switzerland
Switzerland has been a regular guest at big tournaments in the past. A fact that distinguishes them from their rival Poland. Except from the EURO 2012 that has taken place in Poland they haven’t qualified them for a big tournament in the past. One advantage for Switzerland could be the bigger experience in competitions. However the team of Vladimir Petkovic also has not always been in a good shape during the group stage. Especially at the defence Djourou & Co had some problems also in matches against Romania and Albania which had been weaker than them. The best performance of Granit Xhaka & Co has been at the match against France. They totally had been able to keep up with them and in the end the match has ended without any goal. The chances for a promotion already had been good before the match against France. Against Poland Switzerland has to deal with a lot of pressure. They also should improve achieving goal chances against Poland. This was probably the biggest shortcoming from the team beside the defence. One fact beside: Both goals in the group stage have been scored due to standard situations.
Current performance of Poland
Poland was between light and shadows at the group stage. Their best performance hasn’t been rewarded with a victory. This has been against the world champion Germany where the eleven of Adam Nawalka at least got a point in the end. Especially at the counterattack they have shown that they are extremely dangerous. With a little bit more efficiency they might even be able to have won the group C and therefore they also could have get an easier rival for the eighth finals. Now they have to play against Switzerland. When it comes to the individual quality both teams are on the same stage but when it comes to tournament experience this is what they are missing. The polish fans also worry about their forward star Robert Lewandowski. The player from Bayern München hadn’t very much luck. Nonetheless Poland has acted more sovereign at the qualifying round than their rival Switzerland. The self-confidence should be just right. All in all Poland seems to be more close-knit but the encounter probable will end in a drawn but small things could be already decisive.
Betting tip for this match
It’s hard to predict who will win this match. Due to the latest performance maybe Poland is a little bit more the favourite but both teams have shown a great performance against the favourite of the group. We think that the match will end in a drawn and maybe end up with an extra time or penalty. Our tip: tip x.
