Duel of the Real-Superstars

When Portugal meets the surprise candidate Wales at the semi-final of the EURO 2016 than it is also a duel between the Real Madrid colleagues Gareth Bale und Christiano Ronaldo. Due to the latest performance of both teams it is hard to choose a favourite. Kick-off on the 6th of July is at 9 p.m..

Current performance of Portugal

The team of Fernando Santos has caused a little sensation in this EURO 2016. Portugal has made it to the semi-finals without winning a match in the regular playtime. After three matches that ended in a drawn at the group stage (Iceland (1:1), Austria (0:0) and Hungary (3:3)) they had just enough point to make it to the eighth finals. There they have kicked out Croatia but only due to extra time. Scorer of this winning goal was Ricardo Quaresma with a header goal at the 117th minute of play. At the quarter final against Poland they have won at the penalty shoot-out. Scorer of the goal was Ricardo Quaresma again. The performance at both matches at the KO phase hasn’t been very convincing. One ray of hope was the 18 year old Renato Sanches who has celebrated his starting eleven debut at the match against Poland and also scored the balancing goal. The return of Raphaël Guerreiro also gives hope. However the trainer Santos has to play without William Carvalho due to a ban. Portugal will set on counter as already at the other matches.

Current performance of Wales

The sensational course of Wales goes on. They are the last team of the British Island. In addition the team of Chris Coleman is the team with the most scored goals in this tournament. Three goals have been scored by Gareth Bale. At the eighth final against Northern Ireland they have won also because of a little bit luck but at the quarter finals against Belgium they have shown a masterly performance. They even have been calm when they had a backlog at first and finally have won with a score of 3:1. At the round of the last four the match can play without any pressure because they have already surpassed their expectations. The pressure lies on their rival Portugal. It is also to say that two important players are not able to play due to a ban. Especially the loss of Aaron Ramsey is hard to compensate. Also Tottenham central defender Ben Davies can only watch this match from the side of the playfield. However Coach Chris Coleman will have the right answer for this. The euphoria will be also enormous at the team.

Betting tip for this match

Due to the latest performance Wales is a little bit more the favourite in this match. Especially at the offensive play Bale & Co have been little bit more convinced. Nonetheless Portugal has the better single players while Wales is the better collective. We think that this match will end with a real close result or will even be decided by extra time or a penalty shoot-out. That’s why our tip is: tip x.
