The group C of the EURO 2016 promises to be a very exciting group. Not only the current world champion Germany is playing in this group, it also comes to a duel between the hosts of the EURO 2012, Poland and the Ukraine. Northern Ireland completes the group. They meet Poland at the starting match. The match starts at 6 p.m. on the 12th of June.
Current performance of Poland
Poland is one of the most powerful teams at the EURO 2016. At the qualification for the last rounds the team of Adam Nawalka has been the strongest offensive team with 33 scored goals. This is not very surprising Poland has some of the top players in their team like Jakub Blaszczykowski, Arkadiusz Milik and of course Bayern-Star Robert Lewandowski who has scored the most goals at the qualification. At the defence they also have international players for example Keeper Wojciech Szczesny. They have shown their quality in March 2016 when they have won against Finland with a score of 5:0 and before this match they also have beaten Serbia with a score of 1:0. They even were able to beat Germany at the qualification for the EURO 2016. The Nawalka eleven is unbeaten since 8 matches but there are some inner disquiet because of the rumours that captain Lewandowski will change. This may influence the performance of the team. If they are able to focus than Poland can be a dangerous outsider.
Current performance of Northern Ireland
The northern Irishmen are the big unknown in the group C. The team of Martin O´Neill doesn’t have experience at tournament at the European championship but they have shown a good performance at the qualification. That’s why it is interesting to see how they will handle a new situation. At their qualification group F they have won the group and therefore beaten teams like Romania, Hungary and ex European champion Greece. Well Northern Ireland didn’t have that much pot luck at the last rounds. They are the clear outsider at the fight for the eighth finals. Nonetheless the EURO beginners have shown at the rehearsals that they are in a good shape at the moment. In March the match against Wales ended with a score of 1:1. A few days later they even have been successful against Slovenia (1:0) and at the 27th of May they have won against Belarus with a score of 3:0. Star of the team is definitely Steven Davies from the Premier-League-Club Southampton. A lot of hope also lies on the 21 year old Manchester-United-legionary Patrick McNair. Kyle Lafferty is responsable for the necessary goals.
Betting tip for this match
If Poland wants to keep dreaming of the eighth finals they really need to win against Northern Ireland. The quality of the squad from Lewandowski & Co definitely speaks for them. However Northern Ireland already has shown more than once at the qualification that they also can mean trouble. In addition they are motivated by a wave of euphoria. Our tip for this match: tip 1.
