Top match at the eighth final

Already at the round of the last 16 of the EURO 2016 a real top match is waiting for us. It’s the encounter of the finalist from 2012. Italy and Spain will play against each other. So for one of the favourites this tournament will be finished sooner than we had thought. Kick-off on the 27th of June is at 6 p.m..

Current performance of Italy

As already expected before the tournament has started, Italy has made the group stage with a sovereign performance. Even when the last match is still to play the eleven of the upcoming Chelsea-Coaches Antonio Conte is already winner of the group E. They have won against one of the favourites Belgium with a score of 2:0 and the outsider Sweden (1:0). While they have shown a tactical masterly performance against Belgium against the Scandinavian Candreva & Co didn’t show their best performance. However due to a late goal they still have won the match. With Spain a real though rival is waiting for them. Just to remember at the final of the EURO 2012 they have been defeated with a score of 0:4. Especially important for Italy will be that they can rely on their strong defence because against the title holder will be a lot of work there. With a similar performance like against Belgium they definitely can also keep up with Spain. How Ramos & Co are able to beat has Croatia already shown on the last day of play of the group D. We will see how Coach Conte will prepare his team for this match.

Current performance of Spain

On the first day of play of the group it all seems great. Spain was dominating the match and scored a late goal against the Czech Republic and won three important points due to a 1:0. Against Turkey the performance has been a real firework and with a score of 3:0 they have beaten their rival clearly. On the third day of play of the group stage (21st of June) it came to the fight of the leading position of the group D. Spain was the clear favourite in the match against Croatia and also has led the match with a score of 1:0 but in the end they have lost the match with a score of 1:2. So they have finished the group stage on the second position. Even when they have qualified them self for the eighth finals this defeat against Croatia was hopefully a warning shot that came just in time. Against the world champion of 2006 Iniesta & Co will have to improve their performance or it could end very quickly. If they focus on their strength they will be able to cause trouble against Italy. One advantage from Spain is the individual quality of the squad. Trainer Vicente del Bosque probable will be more a mental coach until the match on the 27th of June even when a strong team like Spain has to handle such defeats easily.

Betting tip for this match

At the group stage both teams have shown a sovereign performance. The defeat against Croatia probable was a warning at the right time for Spain. This defeat will set free new power and that’s why we believe in a close victory for Spain at the eighth final. That’s why our tip is: tip 2.
