Sunday, 03.07.2016 at 21:00 o’clock (CET)

Host against the sensation

While lately Wales has been the big surprise at the eighth finals of the EURO 2016, it has changed recently and their show has been stolen by Iceland. They have won at the round of the last 16 against England and at the quarter final they meet the host France. Kick-off on the 3rd of July is at 9 p.m..

Current performance of France

The French team needed some matches to get on track. The last group match against the Switzerland has ended “only” in a drawn without any goals but at the same time it has been the best performance of the host. An increase of their performance has been shown at the eighth final against Ireland especially at the second half of the play. Till the first half of the match „Le Bleus“ had a backlog of one goal but then they have shown what they are made of and the elven from Didier Deschamps have won the match with a score of 2:1. The winner of this match has been Antoine Griezmann who has scored both goals. France has some troubles at the defence. Adil Rami and Laurent Koscielny haven’t shown their best performance as central defender against Ireland. Similar like against Ireland they probable will also need a lot of patient against Iceland. The job of their trainer will be to adjust the team for this. When it comes to play France has more quality than their rival.

Current performance of Iceland

Who would have thought this? Not even the biggest optimists would have thought that Iceland will make it to the quarter finals. With a lot of discipline, ambition and effort the team made the impossible. It is also impressing that the team from Northern Europe is still unbeaten. They made the group stage without any defeat. At the eighth finals there has been the highlight. They have beaten one of the favourites in this EURO England even though there was backlog from one goal. In the end they have won with a score of 2:1 and therefore they kicked England out of the EURO 2016. Iceland also has been the better team in the most parts of the match. So there promotion to the quarter finals is well-deserved. There will no big change at the tactics against France. Trainer Lars Lagerbäck will use the 4-4-2-System again. One little disadvantage for Iceland is that the Hogdson eleven has underestimate their rival but against France this will probably not happening. An advantage on the other side is that Iceland can play without any pressure while the whole world expects and victory from the host of the EURO. How dangerous this outsider can be was seen at the match against England.

Betting tip for this match

Of course France is the favourite in this match. An early goal would be an advantage for France. However Iceland was not even from an early goal frightened. We think that it will be hard for France but in the end they will win this match closely. That’s why our tip is: Tip 1.
