A real smash hit at the start
Daily league routine is back after Champions and Europe League games were played during the week. This weekend has some exciting games in store in English Premier League. One of those is the top duel between FC Chelsea and Liverpool. Kick-off is Friday at 9 PM.
Current form FC Chelsea
Everything’s fine at FC Chelsea right now. New coach Antonio Conte brought back success to Stanford Bridge. The messed up season 2015/2016 almost seems forgotten. The team from London is currently ranked second after four rounds and they are one of three teams who haven’t lost yet. After three straight wins in the first three rounds against West Ham (2:1), Watford (2:1) and FC Burnley (3:0) they also won their Cup game against Bristol Rovers. Last weekend was a little bit of a disappointment, when Chelsea only drew 2:2 against Swansea City. The “Blues” need to work on their defense. After all they have at least received one goal per game, except the Burnley game. Chelsea can be happy though, that they drew against Swansea, because they have been down 1:2. They had trouble making the equalizing goal even though they shot at the goal 17 times. The fact that they already won three games this season in front of their home crowd, should give the “Blues” hope though. Liverpool is a strong opponent nevertheless. Unlike the “Reds” Chelsea has a real goal getter however. Diego Costa scored four goals in four games so far.
Current form FC Liverpool
FC Liverpool needs to bring consistency into their game. Jürgen Klopp’s team inspires with great offensive football at times, for example in the season opener against FC arsenal (4:3). That game was followed by an inexplicable loss to promoted team and currently ranked 15th Burnley (0:2). After that they celebrated a 5:0 win in the EFS-Cup against Burton Albion, just to “only” draw against Tottenham (1:1) afterwards. The draw was followed by a win again versus defending Champion Leicester City last weekend. Following the principle of series Liverpool is either supposed to draw or to lose against Chelsea. Like their opponent Klopp’s team is struggling on defense. Apart from the cup game they received at least one goal per game. So it is especially bitter that inside defender Dejan Lovren will miss the game against Chelsea, since he also has good offensive skills. Apart from him everybody is fit to play however. Klopp can be hopeful that his offense will succeed again. Four different offensive players have scored two goals so far, but no striker has been able to score yet.
This is an exciting duel where two dangerous offensive line-ups meet each other. Liverpool has the momentum on their side, but Chelsea in their current shape is able to beat anybody at home. Our recommendation: Tip X.
