Betting tip UEFA Champions League: FC Barcelona - Manchester City
Wednesday, 19.10.2016 at 20:45 hour
The top duel of game day three
It is by far the best game of the third game day of Champions League. We are talking about the duel between FC Barcelona and Manchester City. ManCity’s coach Pep Guardiola will therefore face the club that his heart beats for. Kick-off is Wednesday at 8.45 PM.
Current form FC Barcelona
If Messi is in good shape, FC Barcelona is in good shape. That’s how one could describe the Catalans’ situation. Messi gave his comeback last weekend after he has been out for a couple of weeks due to injury. And while Barcelona hasn’t performed very well without him, they were able to celebrate a blowout win over Deportivo La Coruna (4:0) again with the Argentinian. Messi was able to score the fourth goal after he got subbed into the game. Before that Luis Enrique’s team didn’t always play so well. They surprisingly lost against Celta Vigo for example (4:3), and the Champions League game on the second game day against Mönchengladbach was not a great performance either, even though thy won 2:1. Barcelona didn’t look to good on defense especially in the last couple of weeks. They seem to have improved that, because the game against La Coruna was the first one after five games without receiving a goal. Additionally Barca is very strong at home. They have been able to win their last twelve Champions League home games. They also beat Manchester City in their last four games against each other.
Current form Manchester City
While the opponent from Spain found their way back onto the road of success, the Englishmen don’t seem to get back on track. The Guardiola-Eleven has not been able to win any of their last three games. First they only drew 3:3 against Celtic Glasgow in the Champions League, and then they lost their first game this season against Tottenham 0:2. Last weekend against Everton they also couldn’t win and the game ended in a 1:1 draw. But the Citizens’ performance gave hope, because they contained the “toffees” pretty well over most parts of the game and ManCity had more chances to score. They will have to work on their efficiency before Wednesday’s game however. Pep Guardiola has been resting some key players though. Top striker Sergio Aguero for example started the game on the bench. Just like Barcelona Manchester City also celebrated an important players’ comeback. We are talking about Belgian midfield motor Kevin de Bruyne, who will be playing on Wednesday. The same counts for captain Vicent Kompany, who also was at least subbed in against Everton.
Both teams were able to welcome back important players lately. For Barcelona speaks their offensive power, that has always been great in the last couple of games even at the loss in Vigo. For Manchester City speaks the fact that they have only lost once this season. Additionally no coach knows FC Barcelona like Pep Guardiola. We still believe that Barcelona will be able to win at home. Our recommendation: Tip 1.
