The next great game day in Champions League
After Tuesday’s game there are eight Champions League games on Wednesday as well. In group A Arsenal London plays against Ludogorets. London therefore is host to an unpleasant opponent. Kick-off is October 19 at 8.45 PM.
Current form Arsenal London
There is no reason for sadness for Arsenal London right now. The “Gunners” turned out to be the big winner of the last Premier League round. While Tottenham and Manchester City gave up points, the Wenger-Eleven won against Swansea City 3:2 and hopped to second place in the ranking. They are now only one point behind the Guardiola-Eleven. The victory was important for their mora; after all they had to play the last 20 minutes with only 10 players, after Granit Xhaka received a red card. Before the win against the Welshmen Arsenal beat promoted team Burnley (1:0) and city rival Chelsea (3:0) in the league. In summary one can say that the Wenger-Eleven has been in top shape for the last couple of weeks. They have been undefeated since the bitter 3:4 loss to Liverpool in the season opener. The win against Swansea was the tenth game in a row in which the “gunners” obtained at least a draw. Currently one of the team’s strengths is especially their wing game. Theo Walcott, who is an offensive outside player, scored twice against Swansea. He is leading the team’s goal statistics with five goals in front of his teammate Alexis Sanchez, who plays on the left side and scored four goals so far. Arsenal’s midfield as a whole is very dangerous. On third and fourth place are Mesut Özil (3 goals) and Santi Cazorla (2).
Current form Lodugorets Razgrad
The Champions League debutant from Bulgaria is not quite as successful as their opponent. Even though they won their last two league games against Neftochimik (3:1) and OFK Pirin (3:1) they are currently ranked second in the Bulgarian league behind leader Lewski Sofia. This is not very satisfying for a club that expects nothing less than the title win. In international play Ludogorets has been struggling as well. The draw at the start against FC Basel was more than decent, but they didn’t stand a chance on the second game day against Paris St. Germain and lost 1:3. The Bulgarians’ biggest weapon is without a doubt their offense. They scored no less than eleven goals in their last three league games. The many South American players on Ludogorets team provide a playfulness that is unique in Bulgaria. The draw in Basel should give Georgi dermandzhiev a lift, since it showed that they are able to compete in away games. Just like Arsenal Ludogorets trusts their offensive players. Four of them have already scored at least four goals. Defensively the Bulgarians tend to make mistakes though. The Dermandzhiev-Eleven was only able once to keep their opponent goalless in 2016/2017.
Internationally the Bulgarians have been struggling so far. They seem to have problems with the tempo that’s played in Champions League. Arsenal is an opponent that is currently riding a wave of success and they can additionally play in front of their home crowd. Our recommendation therefore: Tip 1.
