Betting tip England Premier League: FC Arsenal - FC Chelsea
Saturday, 24.09.2016 at 18:30 hour
London derby is top match of the round
While there have been league games during the week in a lot of other leagues in Europe, in England there have “only” been played cup games. This weekend it’s back to league play though. This round offers a real classic, namely the derby between FC Arsenal and FC Chelsea. Kick-off is Saturday at 6.30 PM.
Current form FC Arsenal
The current form of Arsen Wenger’s team - he is celebrating his 20-year anniversary on the “Gunners” bench this week by the way - is simply impressive. They have been undefeated since the first round, which means six games in a row and more than a month time. The goalless draw against Leicester was the start of a great series. After that they won in Premier League against Watford (3:1), Southampton (2:1) and Hull City (4:1). In the start of Champions League Arsenal drew against PSG 1:1 with a little bit of luck. The most recent win was an impressive 4:0 away against Nottingham Forest in the EFS-Cup. If one would currently have to criticize something, it would be the defensive work of the forth ranked team. So far Mertesacker and Co. received at least one goal per game in Premier League and in the season opener against Liverpool even four. Offensively everything is going smoothly on the other hand. Three different players have scored two or more goals so far. The Wenger-Eleven is still waiting on a goal by a striker though. Currently the most dangerous players come from the midfield. In the cup against Nottingham one could see an alternative. Young offensive player Lucas Perez was able to score two goals.
Current form FC Chelsea
One interesting fact at the beginning: after the past round the “Blues” have been surpassed by the city rival Arsenal in the ranking due to the first loss of the season under new coach Antonio Conte. Chelsea lost to Liverpool 1:2. But also the games before Liverpool were kind of close. The 2:1 against West Ham was followed by a 2:1 against Watford. In the EFS-Cup lower class Bristol Rovers were only beat 3:2. The only clear victory came against FC Burnley (3:0). The 2:2 draw against Swansea City proves that Chelsea is struggling in away games. One disadvantage for the “Blues” might be the cup game against Leicester during the week, when they had to go into overtime. Chelsea won 4:2 in the end, but it’s a justified question, whether the physical strains of that game will show on the weekend. An advantage for Chelsea are standard situations however. Against the Foxes two defenders were able to score after standard situations. Unlike Arsenal Arsen Wenger’s team is counting on a striker on offense. Diego Costa has already scored five goals this season.
An intensive game can be expected. Arsenal will have to stop Costa, while Chelsea will have to prevent the dynamic forward play of their opponent. The direct duels form the past favor Chelsea, but the performances from the last couple of games speak for Arsenal. Therefore we are counting on a game that ends in a draw. Our recommendation: Tip X.
