Betting tip 1st German Bundesliga: Bayer 04 Leverkusen - Hamburger SV
Saturday, 10.09.2016 at 15:30 hour
A classic on Saturday
The second round of the German Bundesliga has a couple of exciting duels in store. The “opener” between Bayern Munich and Schalke will be followed by the match of Bayer Leverkusen against Hamburger SV on Saturday for example. Kick-off of that interesting game is September 10 at 3.30 PM.
Current form Bayer Leverkusen
After the opening round Bayer meets HSV, who is a neighbor on the ranking table right now. Leverkusen lost their first game of the season against Borussia Mönchengladbach 1:2. It was kind of unlucky. After Bayer was able to equalize the game shortly before half time, they then received the 1:2 in minute 85. Leverkusen’s performance still was appealing. Especially Joker Joel Pohjanpalo proposed himself for further tasks. The Finn scored the first and so far only goal of the season for Leverkusen shortly after his substitution. So he will probably start against HSV, because Coach Roger Schmidt is bothered by injuries. He is currently missing Chicharito, new signee Kevin Volland and old hand Stefan Kießling due to injuries. Bayer changed their defensive line up though in the last days of the transfer period. Leverkusen signed Aleksanar Dragovic from Dynamo Kiev and let go Kyriakkos Papadopoulos to RB Leipzig.
Current form Hamburger SV
They imagined the season start differently in Hamburg for sure. After they barely won the cup game against Zwickau 1:0 they were the favorite against Ingolstadt. But in the end the Labbadia-Eleven was only able to draw 1:1 against Ingolstadt. One positive aspect: the goal was scored by new signee Bobby Wood. Unfortunately he and his teammates couldn’t hold on to the lead until the end. Hamburg was lacking a playmaker. Neither Aaron Hunt, nor Gideon Jung was able to fulfill that role. Jung will probably miss the game against Leverkusen. Albin Ekdal is also injured and won’t be able to play. Ekdal would definitely help the team. Hamburg added some power to their defensive line up on the last day of the transfer period. It’s quite possible that Douglas Santos will debut on Saturday. He came for 7.5 million Euros from Brazil. As mentioned HSV’s problems are mainly on offense. Against Ingolstadt they only shot at the goal once in 90 minutes. Considering the result of 1:1 that reflects efficiency though.
Leverkusen has a deeper roster and more quality on their team compared to HSV. Hamburg isn’t able to compensate certain players as well as Bayer. Leverkusen might “only” have their number four striker at disposal against Hamburg though. We still believe that Bayer will win in front of their home crowd. Our recommendation: Tip 1.
