Betting tip 2nd German Bundesliga: 1. FC Kaiserslautern - VfL Bochum
Monday, 24.10.2016 um 20:15 Uhr
A home win as first step out of the crisis?
When the teams of 1. FC Kaiserslautern and Vfl Bochum play against each other on Monday in the second German Bundesliga, there is a lot at stake for the home team especially. Kaiserslautern is currently battling relegation. Kick-off is 8.30 PM.
Current form 1. FC Kaiserslautern
The former German Bundesliga club has only one game so far in 2016/2017. That’s why they can be found at the bottom of the table. Tayfun Korkut’s team is currently ranked 16t5h and is therefore in desperate need of points. If they want to score points, they need to score goals however, which is not easy for the “Red Devils” this season. Kaiserslautern currently has the weakest offense of the whole league. The last results speak a clear language as well. They were only able to score one point in their last three games and this point was obtained through a goalless draw against Arminia Bielefeld two weeks ago. The 1. FC is also waiting for a goal since three games. They have not been able to score against Heidenheim (0:3) and against Braunschweig (0:1) either. A little bit of hope gives the fact that the only win so far could be celebrated in front of their home crowd. So if there is hope for points, it’s most probably at Betzenberg. Additionally the performance against Braunschweig was not too bad and the loss was rather unlucky.
Current form Vfl Bochum
Bochum also expected more before the beginning of the season. They are currently ranked eighth. Their problem is not the offense however, but the complete opposite is the case. While their opponent’s problem is scoring goals, Bochum is struggling on defense. Gertjan Verbeek’s team is currently the second worst defensive team of the league. But at least they have not lost their last three games. Last weekend they drew against SV Sandhausen (2:2), before that Bochum beat Erzgebirge Aue 4:2 and the game against Vfb Stuttgart ended in a 1:1 draw. It’s striking that Bochum received 2 and 3 goals respectively in their wins over Aue and Nürnberg. Offensively Bochum belongs to the top teams of the second Bundesliga thanks to their 16 scored goals. Additionally the past results against Kaiserslautern give reason to hope. They have not lost any of the last five games. Bochum won twice (2:1 and 4:0) and drew against Kaiserslautern three times (1:1, 2:2 and 1:1). Bochum is struggling against stable defenses though, which one can see in their past results. In the game against Kaiserslautern they will face a stable defense however.
Bochum doesn’t need to be scared of Kaiserslautern’s offense, especially since some offensive players of the home team are injured. If the Verbeek-Eleven will be able to improve their defense, they should be able to win at Betzenberg. Additionally they are playing against an insecure opponent.
